Variegated Liriope

Not Bothered by Deer or Drought
While the Variegated Liriope thrives in dry or sandy, well-drained soil, it makes a lovely addition to a variety of outdoor gardens. In full or partial sun, or even full shade, plant it along walkways, in rock and woodland gardens, and flower pots to enjoy the vibrant, violet, grapelike clustered flower heads, standing 4-8" tall over a bed of long, grassy leaves striped lengthwise with green and cream. These deer-resistant perennials bloom from midsummer to early fall, but before or after flowering, they make excellent ground cover. Once established, the Variegated Liriope doesn't mind drought, holding up well in climates without much rain. Liriope muscari 'Variegata'
