Standing Ovation™ Serviceberry Standing Ovation™ Serviceberry

Standing Ovation Serviceberry

Perfect for hedging
This shrub has an unusual habit, which makes it a dream for certain landscaping uses. It grows uniformly—very narrow and tall, like a column. It's eye-catching—covering itself in bright white flowers in spring, dark early-summer berries, and fiery orange-and-red fall foliage. You may have heard of the berries as juneberries or Saskatoon berries. They're high in antioxidants, great for fresh eating or baking into a pie! Although, if you want to eat the berries you may have to use netting to keep the backyard birds away. You'll get the best yield if this beauty gets plenty of sunshine—at least 6 hours a day. It takes its time getting established, staying short in the first year, and then it grows about a foot in each following year.
