Spanish Flare Hellebore

Unusual Coloration
Each broad, butter-yellow petal of this hellebore, or Lenten Rose, is dappled with deep maroon flares emanating from the center of the flower, the nectaries. The flower heads are 3" across, and beneath them, you'll find glossy, leathery green leaflets that are toothed around the edges. In warmer climates, this foliage is evergreen! This hellebore thrives in full or partial shade. While it can handle any droughts that come its way, it prefers well-drained, moist, retentive soil. The delightful blossoms don't interest the deer, so plant it in whatever shady spot you'd like: woodland areas and rock gardens, or along borders typically in shade by the house or a fence. Cut them to add to bouquets and decorative vase displays. Helleborus 'Spanish Flare'
