Samurai Variegated Toad Lily

The Most Adorable Shady Perennial
This clumping perennial adds a lot of quirky interest to your shade garden. These little tropical-looking blooms are complex, distinctive and just adorable. Be sure to plant this somewhere that you can take a close look at them, the orchid shape and tons of little speckles are worth the closer inspection. The leaves are lightly variegated, which switches things up among your other shady foliage plants. Toad lilies act a lot like the amphibian—they really do like to be tucked into a cool, damp spot in the soil. However, once established, they can handle dry shade, too. Mainly, just leave them undisturbed and enjoy the show.
