Rosie The Riveter Floribunda Rose

Produces an arsenal of unique blooms
This garden workhorse salutes the women who tirelessly worked in the factories and shipyards of the U.S. defense industry during World War II. Rosie the Riveter manufactures a profusion of uniquely colored, 3-3½" double blooms of classic form that release a moderately strong fruit-and-spice fragrance. Each lush flower opens from an exquisite, pointy bud and is packed with 30 to 45 petals. Blooms are orange-gold and splendidly suffused with pink. They form atop the dark, very glossy foliage of the plant's bushy, nicely rounded habit. Use as a garden centerpiece or to line a walkway. Also great in containers placed on patio corners or alongside entryways.

  • Planting Instructions: Dig a hole large enough to easily accommodate root structure. In cold climates, position the graft knot/crown 2 to 3 inches below ground level, in mild climates, position the graft knot/crown right at ground level. Place the plant at the proper height in the hole, and fill two-thirds full with the amended soil. Using a gentle stream of water, fill the remainder of the hole. As the water seeps in, it will moisten the roots and surrounding soil, removing any air pockets. After the water has completely settled, fill the hole to the top with the remaining soil. Sprinkle lightly with water to assure good moisture.
  • Soil Requirements: Well drained, humus enriched soil
  • Growth Rate: Moderate once established
  • Pruning: Remove spent flowers.
  • Winter Care: Mulch heavily around the base of the plant. Remove promptly in early spring.
  • Additional Information: Roses prefer a thorough watering but do not like 'wet feet'. Water early in the day to avoid wet conditions into the night which can cause issues with fungus and disease.
