Privet Hedge

Hardy Enough for Northern Gardens
One of the best hedges for northern gardening, you can count on the hardiness of the Privet Hedge. It grows fast--its lush, medium green foliage filling out rapidly to making a handy privacy screen. Also a good option if you're looking for a tidy hedge, as it easily tolerates regular pruning to keep the desired shape. It grows well in any soil except the extremely waterlogged, and withstands dry soil nicely. This variety does produce little clusters of cream-colored blooms in late spring to early summer, but these can be trimmed away if preferred. The mature height Privet can reach is up to 15', providing plenty of growth for whatever size hedge you wish. Ligustrum amurense
