Princess Irene Parrot Tulip

The Perfect Form for Fiery Colors
This parrot tulip has a commanding presence in the garden. The unique colors painting its feathered petals add a note of distinction to a mixed border. You'll have plenty of time to enjoy your success with these incredible blooms, they're very long lasting. They grow on strong, sleek stems, which is nice for cut-flowers. When mature, this variety will reach about 16-20", ideal as a mid-level border plant or container feature. It was originally discovered in a field of Princess Irene Triumph Tulips, and bears the same light fragrance and fiery palette. The real difference between this and the Triumph variety, is in the curled and twisted "parrot"-style petals, which make the hot colors look even brighter. Named for Princess Irene van Lippe-Biesterfeld, the Dutch princess known for her love of nature. Tulipa 'Princess Irene Parrot'
