Portuguese Squill

Fantastic Self-Seeding Naturalizer
From spring to early summer, exotic Portuguese Squill splashes the landscape with rich color and a unique beauty all its own. Butterflies and other beneficial pollinators will become frequent visitors to any garden where the blue-purple blooms appear. With a one-of-a-kind flower form that features a crown of petite florets surrounding a deep purple cluster of seed pods, this squill is a terrific variety for container gardening where they can be viewed up close. They self-seed readily and naturalize beautifully, returning yearly to grace borders, beds or rock gardens with carefree, pest-resistant blooms. Plants are drought tolerant, requiring only a well-drained site in full sun to part shade.
