Flowering Height Interest
Bold, pure white double flowers makes this vine a garden knockout. It blooms in late spring to early summer, and with proper deadheading, you'll enjoy a second round of semi-double flowers later in summer. Perennializes well, for a dazzling show of blooms year after year! This variety grows large enough to spread over arbors and pergolas. Clematis use curling petioles to twine around supports, so it won't damage the structure. In container gardening, add a trellis in the back of a pot and create a display you can move to wherever the sun hits it best. It prefers warm tops and cool "feet," so pick a spot with sunshine and a bit of shade over the roots from lower growing plants. Or use mulch to keep roots from getting too much sun. Bred in Japan by hybridizer Susumu Arafune. Deer don't generally eat this plant. Clematis 'Isago'
