Green Envy Coneflower
Green flowers are always an interesting addition to a garden display, and the color changing effect on this echinacea makes it even more eye-catching. Starting out totally green, as the blooms mature, a halo of bright magenta forms around the cone. It's a beauty in the garden, where the showy blooms attract butterflies and birds. Snip a few blooms and use Green Envy's stately stems to create vertical diversity in fresh floral bouquets, also convenient for mixed container plantings. A cheery and charming, easy-growing addition, and if spent flower stems are promptly removed, there's a good chance you'll enjoy repeat blooms. Bred by the gardener Mark Veeder. Deer tend not to bother this variety. Echinacea purpurea 'Green Envy'
