Thrives in Dryer Soils
Smaller than many yuccas, this native cultivar has a uniform habit and clumps of blue-green to gray-green, sword-like leaves with curly white filaments. In early to midsummer, impressive scapes of white, bell-shaped flowers open above the foliage on mature plants. Yuccas thrive in many types of well-drained soils, including those that are very dry. They perform best in full sun, but will grow in partially shaded areas. Easy to grow, yuccas are deer resistant and drought tolerant. Growing just 18-24" tall, Excalibur Yucca is suitable for container gardening. It also works well in mixed perennial beds and rock gardens. Its leaves are evergreen in some zones.
