Reblooming irises are highly prized. After all, who wouldn't want the beautiful plants they've grown to revisit through the season? And Double Shot is the best sort of rebloomer—it's very reliable. It can rebloom up to three times per season, with gorgeous striped falls and standards edged in violet-blue. The great color contrast playing out on its petals really catches attention in a mixed border. It's also nice in a patio pot, and the blooms make a charming addition to your spring bouquets.   • Planting Instructions: Set rhizomes so bottom 1/2 is below ground-level, firm well and water thoroughly. In sandy soil, they should be planted 1-2" deep.
  • Soil Requirements: Well drained preferred. Quite tolerant of a wide range of soils although.
  • Growth Rate: Good
  • Pruning: Remove spent flower stems after flowering. Cut back foliage to 6" leaf fans in late fall. Late fall/early winter. Clean plant debris before winter to prevent borers overwintering.
  • Winter Care: Mulch in colder climates and remove in early spring before growth starts.
  • Additional Information: Reblooms in zones 4 an dup. Iris benefit from digging up and dividing every 3-4 years. This will help the health of the iris and promote strong blooming.
