Distant Drums Floribunda Rose

No two are exactly alike
Here's a striking rose whose unique coloration has it marching to a different beat. Its large, fully double blooms are warm tan in the center and shaded orchid-pink toward the edges. Due to this ombre effect, no two of the cupped, 4" flowerheads look identical. They feature more than two dozen ruffled petals and an intoxicating, spicy-sweet fragrance akin to myrrh. This floribunda, which blooms continuously through the summer, is an upright, bushy plant whose remarkable flowers are further enhanced by its dark green foliage. It is stunning as a cut flower in both appearance and scent.

Product Details

  • Botanical Name:

    Rosa 'Distant Drums'

  • Height: 36 - 48 inches
  • Ship As: #1 BAREROOT
  • Spacing: 36 - 48 inches
  • Spread: 36 - 48 inches
  • Light Requirements: Full Sun, Partial Shade
  • Color: Pink
  • Bloom Time: Late spring to fall
  • Flower Form: Double, in clusters
  • Planting Instructions: Dig a hole large enough to easily accommodate root structure. In cold climates, position the graft knot/crown 2 to 3 inches below ground level, in mild climates, position the graft knot/crown right at ground level. Place the plant at the proper height in the hole, and fill two-thirds full with the amended soil. Using a gentle stream of water, fill the remainder of the hole. As the water seeps in, it will moisten the roots and surrounding soil, removing any air pockets. After the water has completely settled, fill the hole to the top with the remaining soil. Sprinkle lightly with water to assure good moisture.
  • Soil Requirements: Well drained, humus enriched soil
  • Growth Rate: Moderate once established
  • Pruning: Remove spent flowers.
  • Winter Care: Mulch heavily around the base of the plant. Remove promptly in early spring.
  • Additional Information: Roses prefer a thorough watering but do not like 'wet feet'. Water early in the day to avoid wet conditions into the night which can cause issues with fungus and disease.
