Blackberry Lily

Showy Summer Flowers
No, this lily doesn't produce blackberries—but its seed pods certainly resemble them! Each flower head is star-shaped and bright orange, with leopard-like spots down the length of its 2"-wide petals. In autumn, seed pods develop in the center of the flower. While those seed pods begin as tan and pear-shaped, they soon bust open to reveal clusters of shiny black seeds that closely resemble blackberries. True to this flower's bright orange color, these perennials thrive in full sun! Plant along patios and walkways, fill a summery bouquet, or press to dry for lovely pops of color in your preserved flower collection. Belamcanda chinensis
