Blue Festuca Grass
Low-Growing, No-Fuss Perennial!
This ornamental grass is an unusual and eye-catching color, so it's often used as a feature for rock gardens, borders, beds, along paths, or grouped together for an attractive ground cover! The grass only grows to around 8-12" tall, so you can plant it in front of mid-height flowers and play them off its intriguing color. Wheatlike seed heads will rise up over the wiry blue blades and create an attractive contrast of their own. The foliage can be blue to blue-grey, and it achieves its best color in sunnier spots. If you live in a warmer region, however, be sure it has a little afternoon shade. Blue Festuca Grass prefers drier conditions so much that it has a great tolerance to drought. Space 12" apart.
