Hardy Geraniums

Hardy Geraniums
Geraniums are a garden classic - easy to maintain and easy to love! Geraniums are perfect for beds, borders, or even ground cover - their foliage remains attractive after the flowering season. Hardy geraniums, or "true" geraniums, are perennials - unlike the annual pelargonium, which are commonly called geraniums.

Botanical Name:

Hardy Geraniums

Most Popular Colors: Red, white, violet, blue.

Blooming Season: Late spring to summer.

Soil Preferences: Geraniums prefer well-drained, damp soil. Don't allow the soil to dry out between watering.

Climate Preferences: Geraniums will blossom in any temperate climate.

Sun Exposure: Partial shade to full sun.

Landscaping Tips: Geraniums can tolerate some shade; consider using them as ground cover near trees and shrubs. They can also be integrated into a sunny bed or rock garden.

Planting: Plant geraniums 1 to 2 feet apart - spacing will depend on the variety of your plants, so check instructions for your specific bareroots. Add compost or peat humus to loosen the soil, if necessary: geraniums love drainable soil! Water in lightly.
