Planting flower bulbs is an easy way to create a stunning floral display in the garden. Many bulbs, like hyacinths, crocus, ranunculus, Dutch iris and windflowers, should be planted in the cool weather of the fall. Most bulbs look best when planted in groups. Some gardeners choose a single color bulb while others prefer colorful mixes. Before planting, choose a sunny or partially shaded location. Depending on the soil quality, bulbs may require fertilization at planting time and periodically after that. After planting, bulbs are virtually maintenance free and will provide cheerful booms for years to come.
