An aggressive beauty Review by Rae - Columbus, OH

You have to know what you are getting with trumpet vine. The good: easy to grow, sure to attract hummingbirds, will completely cover ugly structures, pretty. The bad: can collapse weak structures, will cover not just your structure but after well established (3-4 years) will start to aggressively spread underground, as far as 25 feet away, under patios and walks even, and is VERY HARD to control or eradicate. The more you prune, the harder it tries to relocate. Best for an isolated area where it can be allowed to run undisturbed.

The Yellow Trumpet Vine is a favorite blooming vine of plant aficionados, thanks to its bright and beautiful flowers which contrast nicely with its dark green foliage. The yellow, trumpet-shaped blooms are renowned for attracting hummingbirds, butterflies, and bees, all of whom make frequent visits to these hardy, easy-to-grow vines. Caring for the Yellow Trumpet Vine is a breeze - plant it in a plot of well-drained soil with plenty of sunshine, give it a dose of water regularly, and watch it grow! These hardy vines, also known by the botanical name Campsis Radicans Flava, grow to a length of 20 to 30 feet on average and span several feet wide. Their bright yellow flowers bloom all summer long in large clusters, adding beauty to your garden and attracting wildlife, including the aforementioned hummingbirds.

Due to their nature, these prolific climbers need no support to grow rapidly, making them ideal for covering unsightly features on your property, i.e. chain-link fences. With a little vertical support, the Yellow Trumpet Vine can climb mail boxes, lampposts, trellises, arbors, fences and more, giving a little flair to everyday objects. The Yellow Trumpet Vine is drought tolerant, able to survive longer without water than many other common plants, making it perfect for those who want to brighten up their garden but don't always have time to care for their flora of choice. In short, the Campsis Radicans Trumpet Vine is ideal for hummingbird lovers, butterfly fans, and time-starved gardeners.
