Love HydrangeaReview by Bree - Waynesboro, VA Posted on 2012-09-05 15:19:46
I love Hydrangea shrubs so when I saw this one I thought it would be a perfect fit to my garden...not that I have a green thumb though. I've had them for about 3 years and they have grown pretty big. First year it didn't bloom but I didn't think it would since it wasn't very strong. Second year, it bloomed a little but they were all pink, not raspberry. This year, basically the same thing all pink but they are still very pretty so I gave it a 4.
Add a touch of beauty and elegance to your garden with the Raspberry Parfait Hydrangea. This deciduous woody shrub is sure to attract onlookers with its large flower head that is made up of pretty pink flowers that transition to white on the edges. The hydrangea shrub blooms from mid to late summer, providing a wonderful summer surprise for you. You can plant this together with other colorful flowers to create a beautiful and bright landscape for your garden arrangement. Since the raspberry parfait hydrangea has rounded flowerheads, they also make great bouquets for weddings and other special occasions. You can also place the flowerheads on a vase for a nice centerpiece in your home.
This hydrangea plant, which is also called the 'Harlequin', must be planted in humus-rich and well-drained soil. It is a sun-loving plant, but can also thrive in a shade or partially shaded area. The plant can reach a height of 5 feet and a spread of 5 feet, which makes it ideal to combine with other short-growing flowers. The raspberry parfait hydrangea's soft pink color is a nice contrast to its glossy leaves that have a deep green shade. The hydrangea shrub is not difficult to take care of, and can be maintained by pruning in order to keep the flowerheads' round shape.
