Medium to dark green, glossy leather foliage.
Massive, full and ruffled blooms.
Rich ruby red
Late spring to late summer.
Plant at the same level as the soil so the crown of the plant is even with the soil level. Don't bury the crown. Full sun is best for quicker flowering and higher quality plants.
Well drained, humus enriched soil.
Moderate once established.
Own-root roses exhibit phenomenal flower power and super hardy plants from a rose plug. Roses grown on their own roots are naturally hardier than grafted roses. In cold climates, new shoots that emerge in spring are true to type, not undesirable suckers below the bud union. These roses exhibit fuller more symmetrical rose plants with more fragrant, beautiful flowers. Large buds open to reveal humungous blooms in a rich ruby red that stays brilliant to the end. The fragrance is a light fruity scent.
Prune to maintain shape and increase branching once established. Remove any dead or damaged branches.
Roses prefer a thorough watering but do not like 'wet feet'. Water early in the day to avoid wet conditions into the night which can cause issues with fungus and disease.
