Flower Form: Full, old fashioned blooms in clusters.

Flowering Date: Late spring to fall
Planting Requirements: Plant at the same level as the soil so the crown of the plant is even with the soil level. Don't bury the crown. Full sun is best for quicker flowering and higher quality plants.
Soil Requirements: Well drained, humus enriched soil.
Growth Rate: Moderate once established.
Unique Characteristics: Own-root roses exhibit phenomenal flower power and super hardy plants from a rose plug. Roses grown on their own roots are naturally hardier than grafted roses. In cold climates, new shoots that emerge in spring are true to type, not undesirable suckers below the bud union. These roses exhibit fuller more symmetrical rose plants with more fragrant, beautiful flowers. This rose gives the look and feel of old fashioned romance. Big vigorous bushes with nodding clusters of deep rose pink blooms with intense fragrance make you think of old rose romance, style and scent.
Pruning: Prune to maintain shape and increase branching once established. Remove any dead or damaged branches.
Additional Information: Roses prefer a thorough watering but do not like 'wet feet'. Water early in the day to avoid wet conditions into the night which can cause issues with fungus and disease.

THis is a wonderful rose. Very strong performer, and wonderful rose to enjoy. I can hardly wait to cut more flowers this summer from her - three roses from her in full bloom makes a full bouquet!

So Beautiful and Fragrant... Review by Bobbi - Puyallup, WA

I received this rose in May and it was so small (looked like a mini rose), but I put it in a pot for the summer and it has tripled in size. It just bloomed for the first time and it is so fragrant. I plan to plant it near my living room window so I can admire and smell it, inside or out.

I ordered these last spring. Was skeptical because of their size when they arrived, but they grew beautifully and bloomed all summer. I can't wait to see how well they do this year!

Blooms as Grande as its name Review by Rhea - Mentone, AL

I got the Grande Dame rose bush last summer expecting no larger blooms than I've had with my knock out rose bushes. I was pleasantly surprised when the blooms were more than grande and so sweet smelling! I'm getting more than one to plant in the new year. Love it.

Love these roses!! Review by K Werner - Denver, CO

I purchased two of these rose bushes last spring. When they arrived they were so small; like two twigs. However, they took off like crazy and by the end of the summer they were around 3 feet tall and constantly blooming. Truly amazing and gorgeous roses with a sweet scent. You won't be disappointed.

A great addition to any rose garden, you can't go wrong the Grand Dame Rose. Combining the traditional look of its old-world style pink rose flowers with the vigor and disease resistance of a modern variety, this hybrid tea rose gives you the best of both worlds. The large, thick blooms that can grow up to six inches wide with formidable petal counts. These blooms will elicit admiration with their deep pink hues enhanced with traces of blue, a remnant of their ancestry, which includes Meredith and Wild Blue Yonder. The Grande Dame's rich, intense classic old rose fragrance is a heady perfume, and in cut flower arrangements the blooms will scent an entire room. The hardy and disease resistant own-root rosebush can grow over five feet tall, and has relatively few thorns and lush, dark green foliage that perfectly offsets the vibrant blooms. This hardy bush produces its pink rose flowers all season long, making it a perfect choice as a centerpiece for your garden or in a mixed border in combination with other colorful garden rose flowers. The Grande Dame Rose is also a great choice for gardeners who have been considering adding the elegance and tradition of roses to their gardens but have been intimidated by the persistent myth that roses are difficult to grow. Show off your skills with the Old World elegance of this classic rose.
