These roses exhibit fuller more symmetrical rose plants with more fragrant, beautiful flowers. Floribunda types were introduced at the World's Fair in 1939 and have been going strong ever since. This attractive deep plum purple has an unusual flower color not widely seen and the buds and flowers rival hybrid tea roses.

I just wanted to update my previous review of this rose. One thing I forgot to mention is that this rose has the most wonderful scent. It is now around 3 foot tall and has produced numerous flowers. I am ordering 2 more.

I love the deep purple flowers in the picture. However, the rose that I received was much closer to a pink than a plum purple. The plant itself grew very well this year but the color was no where near the picture.

Beautiful rose... Review by Bobbi - Puyallup, WA

Just a beautiful purple color...though I would recommend putting it in a pot for a month or so and let it get some growth as it was very small when I received it (looked like a mini rose) though healthy. I put it right in the ground and it is kinda skimpy looking, whereas, some that I received in May, I put in pots for the summer and they have tripled in size and look so much better!

not as purple/plum as pictured Review by Laurie - San Antonio, TX

I bought this because of the color that was shown on their website. However, both blooms that I have are more of a darker pink then a purple, still pretty though. Not sure if this will change or not but hoping it does. It has grown pretty quickly as I got this about a month ago and it was very small (3") it is now about 8" tall.

Without a doubt, the MOST BEAUTIFUL COLOR and BEAUTIFUL SCENT I have ever introduced into my garden! This little Ebb Tide also survived a fence falling on it as a result of a recent storm.

I got this plant in Feb/Mar this year. a small plant with dry, hair like roots. Looked like it was dead. I was very upset and called Michigan bulb co, I was advised to put in water for some time and plant. It was an inch size, took a while for new growth. Now it is 7-8 inches tall with beautiful blooms. My husband and me are in love with this plant. It does not have fragrance but you will love the look. It is worth the money. I would like to have more of them

I planted this rose bush one year and did not get as many roses as I thought I would. The second year, I was amazed at how many roses it has produces. It is full and beautiful. I guess, it has to get used to its new home. I would highly recommend this rose as it is unique and beautiful.

Unique and enticing, the Ebb Tide Rose has a showy, smoky plum or aubergine floribunda double bloom that delights and amazes all your senses. The sweet-smelling blooms emit a spice clove and citrus fragrance and the soft, velvety petals invite your touch. This deep, plummy purple rose plant is a fantastic and hardy "own root" variety, meaning it is grown on its own roots rather than being grafted. Superior to grafted roses, these rose shrubs are more fragrant and have fuller blossoms that are more symmetrical, shapely and attractive.

Plant your Ebb Tide Roses two to three feet apart at the same level as the soil, being sure not to bury the crown. Plant them in well-drained, humus enriched soil in full sun to partial shade. For this variety, full sun will give you the best blooms. Water the purple rose plant thoroughly in the early morning to prevent diseases and fungus. These rose shrubs will reach heights of 2 - 4 feet tall and bloom from late spring to late summer. The Ebb Tide Rose is a super-hardy purple rose plant growing on its own, not grafted, roots. Prune lightly to preserve its shape and encourage branching. Sweet smelling and abundant, this distinctive floribunda deep purple rose is a true crowd pleaser. With its showy double ruffled 3 -4 inch amethystine blooms and medium to dark green, glossy foliage, the Ebb Tide Rose will be the talk of the neighborhood or garden club.
