When the fall season begins to drain some of the vibrancy from your garden, look no further than the Cushion Mum Mix and its bursts of bold color. This Chrysanthemum mix remains a common fixture in American gardens, and is best planted in an area with full exposure to the sun. Along with giving these brilliant flowers a steady diet of sunlight, it's also recommended to plant them 18 to 24 inches apart in well-drained, humus-enriched soil, as soggy ground or standing water can damage the roots. With a height of 18 to 24 inches and a spread of 18 to 24 inches as well, expect your Cushion Mum Mix to bloom from late summer to fall.

Deeply lobed foliage in dark greens with a gray cast accompanies double daisy like flowers in full clusters, which looks quite decorative. Flower colors are highly variable and depend on the mix, but the Cushion Mum Mix is known to offer shades of red, orange, yellow, purple, pink, violet, white, and many more. Cushion mums have a multi-branching habit that covers them in clusters of blooms to the point where the foliage is mostly obscured. Pinching the growing trips when they reach six to eight inches tall in mid-July can encourage more lateral flowering.
