Excellent growth Review by Rafia Shujaat - Naperville, IL

The plant has grown healthy from a pea size to 2 feet and I will be soon transfering it to the flower bed in my back yard. It has given me no trouble for too much care. The leaves just stay fine and I find it drought resistant too because many times being a mom of three isn't easy to water everyday. This plant even after two days of hot stays put.

So pretty! Review by L.V. - Salisbury, NC

Mine came out more lavander than blue. Might be the NC clay soil. Either or, the tiny plant I have can barely support huge flowers on it. It's just so pretty!

Ordered last year and it grew such beautiful flowers all over it. This year it is coming back strong and bigger. Love it!

I planted one of these in my yard in Kentucky about 8 years ago and it did fabulously well. I'm buying another for the home I just got here in California. Hint: Dead-head the flowers and it will bloom profusely.

Beautiful purple blooms Review by Crystal - Toledo, OH

I planted it in the spring and it has only grown to about 8 in. However, it managed about 5 beautiful purple, not blue, blooms. I couldn't believe how large the blooms were even on such a tiny plant. I'm eager to see how big it will grow to in the coming years.

This is beautiful plant. I ordered 3 of them but one died because 100 degree here this summer. Michigan bulb's so kind and replaced one for me and the others as well even it's over months. My others two that survive, flowers come out as nonstop.

This is the most beautiful of all the Rose of Sharon's. I have the these colors: Red, pink, purple, white. The blue is my all time favorite. Just try the blue, you won't be sorry.

Recently purchased six plants. All were very nice plants and I am purchasing more for a fence line between neighbors.

Hibiscus Syriacus Blue Bird, also known as the Blue Bird Rose of Sharon, is an award-winning deciduous shrub with striking azure-blue flowers that are accented by a magenta throat. The lovely blue color and fragrant scent have a soothing effect on your senses and lend a tropical touch to your landscape. Unlike many other blue flowering shrubs which are spring bloomers, the Hibiscus Blue Bird blooms in abundance over a long period from midsummer to first frost (about 2 to 3 months), so your garden will have showy sky-blue blossoms during the fall season. This gorgeous shrub attracts honeybees, butterflies and hummingbirds. It's easy to see why this rose of Sharon shrub was awarded the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.

The Blue Bird Rose of Sharon is very easy to grow and care for and is tolerant of a wide range of conditions. It blooms best in full sun but does well under partial shade too. It is not very choosy about soil or the amount of moisture - any well-draining soil will do! It requires regular watering (weekly or more often in case of extreme heat) while it is getting established. This spectacular Hibiscus Blue Bird shrub grows into a 6 - 8 foot tall, 6 - 10 foot wide fan shape. It makes an excellent hedge or foundation planting, lends itself well to espalier, or shines as the centerpiece of your garden.
